Heading on a vacation soon? Here's my essential beach vacation checklist!

No matter what your means of transportation, be sure to take the following items with you as you head to our beautiful Sunshine State.

Prior to your arrival, be sure to download the Island Vacation Properties Guest App to your smart phone for your customized vacation experience. That app will have all your property rental information, check-in and check-out procedures, as well as some fantastic discounts that our preferred local vendors offer exclusively to our guests!

Driver’s license, Federal State ID, Military ID or passport
Sunglasses and/or hats to protect you from the sun
Sunscreen, at least 15 SPF
Emergency information – whom to contact at home incase an emergency arises. Medical insurance cards, pediatrician’s phone number (they can often diagnose and call in a prescription by phone)
Travel size antibacterial gel
Basic first-aid kit
Prescription medications
Unscented baby wipes that can be used for easy clean up
A small sewing kit with scissors
Extra books to read
Cell phone charger
Folding cooler, perfect for carrying fruit, drinks, and sandwiches
Lightweight jacket for cooler evenings
Inexpensive rain ponchos for those unexpected rain storms
Comfortable walking shoes and sandals
Cash
A sense of humor; traveling especially with children can by trying!
